OLD FORT, NC – To help celebrate the holidays, Mountain Gateway Museum will host its Annual Christmas Open House on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m., following the Town of Old Fort’s Christmas parade. Admission is free, and the public is cordially invited.
Come see the luminaries all aglow on the museum’s front porch and gazebo and atop the rock wall alongside Mill Creek. Then come inside and check out the festive holiday decorations, including a six-foot-tall Christmas tree decorated with natural and handmade ornaments. Enjoy hot beverages and cookies in the museum’s audio-visual room, and listen to the music of Possum Creek Band from 4 to 6 p.m.
Located at 24 Water Street in Old Fort, Mountain Gateway Museum will be open during the holiday season from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday; and noon to 5 p.m. Monday. The museum will be closed December 23-25 for Christmas. It also will be closed on New Year’s Day.
