A deputy charged a Marion man who sped away from him on a stolen motorcycle, according to a report.
Deputy Patrick Guion of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Kyle Aaron Hollifield, 24, of 89 Plywood Sales Drive in Marion, with fleeing to elude arrest and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Shortly after midnight on Wednesday, Aug. 9, Guion spotted a motorcycle with no taillights traveling south on U.S. 221 South.
When the deputy attempted to stop the motorcycle, the driver sped up, leading Guion on a pursuit. The motorcycle got a flat tire and stopped near the entrance of Haldex on U.S. 221 South.
Guion, along with Marion police officers, took Hollifield into custody, and a check of the motorcycle revealed that it was stolen in the city of Marion.
Hollifield received a $20,500 bond.
