A Leicester woman and a Marion woman were both arrested and charged after allegedly assaulting a man and stealing his car in Avery County, according to reports.
The Avery County Sheriff’s Office charged Terisa Renee Snow, 39, of Dorothy Lane in Leicester and Jamie Nicole Owens, 23, of Eply Drive in Marion with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon and larceny of a motor vehicle.
Snow was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.
At approximately 9 p.m. Monday night, the Avery County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a hurt man outside the Pixie Motel in Linville. Deputies responded to find 68-year-old Dennis Cahoon of Asheville in serious condition suffering from multiple head lacerations. Cahoon was able to tell officers that two females had assaulted him and taken his car.
Deputies quickly located his vehicle traveling south on U.S. 221 between Crossnore and Altamont and stopped the vehicle. Owens and Snow were both located in the vehicle, along with an undisclosed amount of money and the hammer reportedly used to hit Cahoon multiple times. Cahoon is expected to recover from his injuries.
Owens and Snow were both held under a $275,000 bond.
