A Marion man charged in 2016 with multiple child sex offenses was given at least 25 years in prison in McDowell County Superior Court.
Martin Lee Gaddy, 50, of Sugar Hill Road in Marion, was found guilty of three counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, three counts of indecent liberties with a child and two count of first-degree sexual offense with a child.
In late Feb. 2016, Capt. Shanon Smith of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Gaddy with first-degree sex offense with a child after his girlfriend discovered a videotape of the suspect having inappropriate sexual contact with an 11-year-old child, allegedly filmed in Jan. 2009.
The following month, further investigation uncovered images on Gaddy’s computer and other electronic devices that showed he had secretly videotaped and photographed two underage girls while they were unclothed.
Gaddy was indicted by a grand jury in July the same year.
