Authorities said Friday they arrested and charged a Marion woman for allegedly breaking into a safe and stealing checks from her grandparents.
Detective Paul Alkire of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Courtney Ann Truesdale, 24, of 79 Plantation Drive in Marion, with safecracking and larceny of chose in action.
Curtis and Janice Wheeler, of Marion, reported on Thursday, Jan. 19 that someone had stolen checks from a safe in there house and passed them at various businesses.
Alkire said an investigation led to Truesdale, who is the Wheelers’ live-in granddaughter.
Truesdale received a $20,500 bond.
