A Marion man was arrested and charged after officers performing a traffic stop found 42 grams of pot in his vehicle, according to reports.

Officer Matthew Huggins of the Marion Police Department charged Gary Lee Tuomela, 19, of Dogwood Acres Loop, Marion, with possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling or vehicle to store a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, speeding and careless and reckless driving.

On Saturday, Nov. 11, Marion P.D. officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Nissan Altima on U.S. 221 Business North. According to arrest reports, further inspection of the vehicle uncovered a box of Ziploc baggies, a set of digital scales, two Mason jars, 42 grams – or about an ounce and a half -- of pot and five dosage units of Xanax.

Tuomela’s bond was set at $7,000.
