A Marion man faces drug charges after a baggie of meth fell out of his pants while deputies were at his home, authorities said Tuesday.

Detective Patrick Guion of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Robert Hezekiah Patton, 29, of 1523 Stacy Hill Road in Marion, with possession of methamphetamine.

Deputy David Jones went to Patton’s residence to serve civil papers on him. While doing so, a baggie fell out of the suspect’s pants.

The bag contained 1.9 grams of methamphetamine. Guion took over the case from Jones and filed the charges.

Patton’s bond was set at $10,000.
