An argument over allegedly stolen dirt bikes led to a broken jaw for one man and assault charges against another, authorities said Tuesday.

Detective Paul Alkire of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Curtis O’Neil Logan, 39, of 3504 Old Highway 10 East in Nebo, with assault inflicting serious injury.

Lt. Andy Manis said, on Tuesday, Oct. 18, Lee Harp, of State Street, reported that he was at his mother-in-law’s house on Old Highway 10 East, when Logan came over and started accusing Harp of stealing some dirt bikes that Harp denied taking.

During the encounter, Logan punched Harp three times in the face, breaking his jaw, according to deputies.

Logan received a $40,000 bond.
