An Old Fort man and woman were arrested and charged after a probation search uncovered over 32 grams of meth, authorities said Friday.
Lt. Chris Taylor of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 42-year-old Michelle Lynn Effler, of 311 Mashburn Branch Road in Old Fort, and 46-year-old Joseph Steven Hamrick, of 1249 Parker Padgett Road in Old Fort, with trafficking in methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine.
On Thursday, Aug. 31, sheriff’s deputies assisted state probation/parole officers with a search at Effler’s Mashburn Branch Road residence.
Authorities located 32.1 grams of methamphetamine.
Effler was issued a $100,000 bond. Hamrick was issued a $125,000 bond.
