A Drexel man busted for shoplifting at Wal-Mart in Marion also faces drug charges, according to reports.

Cpl. Daniel Hoskins of the Marion Police Department charged Levi Ellis Buchanan, 28, of Bryant Road, Drexel, with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, shoplifting by concealment and trespassing.

On Jan. 18 at approximately 1:39 p.m., police responded to Wal-Mart of Sugar Hill Road in reference to a shoplifting in progress. When units arrived, the suspect, Buchanan, was found in possession of a key holder, a charger cable and a Spudz cloth, with a total value of $9.

A subsequent search of the suspect also led police to find 0.55 grams of methamphetamine and three dosage units of Alprazolam. He was also served with an outstanding warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle out of Catawba County.

Buchanan received a $14,000 bond.
