Authorities said Monday they arrested and charged a Marion man for his alleged involvement in a spray painting spree throughout the city.
When he arrested, he had paint on his hands and a receipt for the purchase of the cans, police said.
The Marion Police Department has charged Scott Demas Nations, 25, of Tory Trail, Marion, with vandalism.
In the early morning hours on Monday, officers with Marion P.D. discovered numerous locations and retail establishments that had been vandalized with spray paint over Sunday night and Monday morning, including businesses, bridges and utility boxes.
While investigating one of the incidents, surveillance footage from one of the tagged businesses was obtained containing a suspect and a vehicle. The suspect, Nations, was later located in the Sugar Hill area with spray paint on his hands and a receipt showing paint purchased around 2 a.m. that morning.
Nations received a $2,000 bond.
