Investigators with Marion Police Department need the public’s help identifying the knife-wielding suspect that attempted to rob a convenience store Monday night, Oct. 23.

Officers were called to C.J.’s on the five lane at 11:54 p.m. Upon arrival, they spoke with staff inside the store and learned that what appeared to be a black male wearing black clothing, a black mask partially covering his face and white socks over his hands entered the business through the front door. The man brandished a knife and demanded money from the safe and register.

When the clerk was unable to open the safe or the register, the robber fled empty-handed south on the five lane toward Bojangles’.
