Students across McDowell County celebrated Thanksgiving on Friday with a meal prepared by each school’s nutrition staff made up of traditional holiday fixings. Parents, grandparents and other family members were invited to take part in the meal with their student. Many classes across the school system also made projects talking about what they are thankful for. At Eastfield Global Magnet School, kids in the SPLASH program wrote out what they were thankful for in Spanish, while using their turkey hats as a learning tool to county by tens.
