Nebo first graders completed a project based learning project before school was out for summer. They worked in collaborative small groups, selected an animal, did their research, made a poster, did writing and a presentation to their parents. This project incorporated 21st century learning skills, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, writing and presenting. “The first graders did an excellent job,” said retiring Nebo’s principal Joyce Poplin. A large number of parents were in attendance to see what their children have been learning. First-grade teachers at Nebo are Rachel Medford, Amber Williams and Rebekah Autrey.
