The 31st annual Appalachian Potters Market was held at McDowell High School on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring 60 artists from all over North Carolina. The event is sponsored by the McDowell Arts Council Association (MACA) and is their biggest fundraiser of the year. Blue Ridge Traveler was also a sponsor this year. The show featured clay work, raku, sgraffito, decorative stoneware, earthen cookware and traditional folk pottery. Skiffle Creek entertained the crowds with their musical talents, and Bruce’s Fabulous Foods sold box lunches to hungry shoppers. For more information, visit appalachianpottersmarket.com.
