A Marion man on the run for almost two months was apprehended, deputies said Monday.
Lt. Andy Manis of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Adam Keith Rumfelt, 27, of 76 Matilda Ave. in Marion, with obtaining property by false pretense, breaking and entering a place of worship and larceny after breaking and entering.
It was reported on Wednesday, July 16 that someone entered West Marion Baptist Church, at 365 Stroud St. in Marion, and stole a can of soup, an electric keyboard and a blanket, having a total value of $211. Rumfelt was then caught on surveillance video pawning the keyboard.
The suspect was on the run from authorities for more than two months before he was apprehended in October.
Rumfelt got an $18,500 bond.
