McDonald’s of Greenville, Spartanburg and Asheville announced 19 students who received a $1,000 scholarship to financially assist local seniors in their pursuit of higher education.
Garrett McPeters of Marion was the recipient of one of those scholarships. He is homeschooled through North Ridge Christian School.
Recipients are selected based on their academic merit, school involvement and community involvement. The scholarship program consists of four different segments based upon ethnicity and academic achievement.
”We take pride in the ability to give back to our communities in a meaningful way through college assistance. Today a college education is often expected for graduating students and we’re happy to help assist their pursuit of higher education,” said Terry Shugart, McDonald’s owner/operator and co-op president of McDonald’s of Greenville, Spartanburg and Asheville area.
