It’s a new school year and a new season for the McDowell High School NJROTC who competed in their first rifle match of the season at Volunteer High School in Church Hill, Tenn.

Three McDowell teams competed against 11 schools fielding 21 teams. McDowell's "A team" finished in eighth place. Rifle Team Commander Austin Johnson had the team high score of 497. Shooters Reagan Harris, Rebecca Broughton and Joseph Davidson shot their personal best scores.

“This was the first rifle match of the year and we are excited to get this season started off with a great start. We are especially happy about the shooters that shot their personal best - since this was only the first match of the year,” said Johnson.
