All McDowell County teens ages 10 and up are invited to join in on fun games, prizes, snacks, music and Bible lessons at the annual New Manna teen revival starting Tuesday.

The event has been a tradition for the church since 2006, and seeks to reach out to young kids all over McDowell County. On Monday and Tuesday, New Manna representatives will pass out fliers at McDowell High School and middle schools to invite students interested in attending. Adults are welcome, too.

“As a church it would be easy for us to focus right here,” said Youth Pastor Jason Gardner. “What we realized is that we didn’t have a meeting like this that targeted the teenagers of McDowell County. We want this crowd to know that we love them, and we also know that what they need is Jesus.”

This year, the big prize giveaway is an XBOX One X, and every night there will be fun games and lots of other prizes.

“We always start with fun and games and fun giveaways. Then we go to music and worship, then we go into preaching,” said Gardner. “The preaching is different and geared different. We push personal relationships with the Lord obviously, but it also meant to be helpful and life changing for this generation that is facing so many personal battles, and their attacks come on so many different levels. We want to help them from what they need in the home, spiritually and how they are hurting, we want to help these teenagers in whatever need they have.”

The theme for this year’s meeting is Restoration, complete with classic cars and the junior church decorated like machine shops.

“Wherever your life is, God can restore whatever has happened to you,” said Gardner.

The meeting begins Tuesday and runs through Thursday starting at 6 p.m. each night. Transportation is available.

“Anyone can call the church, and we will pick them up,” said Gardner.

Preaching at this year’s event on Tuesday is Josh Jarrett, and Greg Withrow of Temple Baptist Church; Wednesday is Charlie Tinsley and Thursday is Gardner, and Jason Bright of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
