An Old Fort man was treated for injuries after his RV drove off the road and over the edge, according to reports.
At approximately 4:05 p.m., units responded to 100 Carson Street at the intersection of Blue Ridge Street after receiving calls of an RV stuck over the edge of a wall.
Marion Fire Department, McDowell EMS, McDowell Rescue Squad and the Marion Police Department responded to the call.
According to Candie McPherson of Old Fort, her husband, Joe, was driving his brown and beige RV on Blue Ridge Street and stopped at the stop sign.
“When he went to turn left, he said he felt this pop in the steering wheel and he had no control over it,” said Cindy McPherson.
Joe, according to Candie, was the only one inside the RV when it steered off the road.
Traffic at Carson Street and West Court Street was diverted by authorities to allow units to remove the RV from the wall.
Responding units were able to remove the driver from the RV before pulling it off the edge with rescue and towing vehicles. Joe McPherson was treated for minor injuries.
