GREENSBORO — Two men who were hit and killed by an oncoming train Monday have been identified.
Jose Luis Cervantes Murrillo, 55, and Luis Mauricio Santiago Chacon, 30, were on the tracks around 7:16 p.m. between Lowdermilk and Franklin streets when an Amtrack passenger train struck them, according to a police news release.
The two were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Both victims were from Mexico, and had no known permanent address in Greensboro.
There have been three train-related pedestrian fatalities in the city this year.
