Wrestling event to raise money for family in need

Baby Billy is hoping folks will flock to Spindale on Saturday, Aug. 26 to see all-star wrestlers in action to help raise money for his upcoming surgery.

The second annual Billy Ruff Memorial Benefit will take place on Saturday, Aug. 26 at the Forest City National Guard Armory in Spindale, located at 890 Withrow Road.

The benefit is in memory of Green Hill fireman Billy Ruff, and a portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the Billy Bailey who was born with a hole in his stomach and is in need of expensive medical procedures.

The event will feature wrestling star Cortez Castro, who is part of El Rey Network’s hit show Lucha Underground. Other wrestlers include James Drake, William Huckaby, Derek Driver, Myric Moore, Victor Andrews, Randy Wayne, Andy Dalton, High Profile (Shea Shea McGrady and Will Demented), Chrisifix and many more.

There will be over $100 in raffles in prizes, including a Little Heroes Contest. Kids are asked to dress up as their favorite hero for their chance to win a prize.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., and bell time will start at 7. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 10 and under. Advance tickets are $8 and include a meet and greet at 5:30 p.m. and a front row seat. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at www.zonesportsathletics.net/tickets.
