YMCA Family Night showcases STEM, new programs

The public is invited to the YMCA this evening for a presentation by Kid Senses.

The public is invited to Family Night at the Corpening Memorial YMCA tonight from 6:30-8 p.m.

Kid Senses, the children’s science museum, will present Science Shenanigans, a STEM-related program that will entertain and educate all ages. Healthy snacks will be served.

The first 100 new members who join the Corpening Memorial Y between Jan. 26-29 will receive a gift card to use toward YMCA programs such as day or overnight camp, swim lessons, youth sports, or small group training. In addition, the joining fee will be waived.

Membership in the Y includes access to all seven local facilities, as well as discounts on all Y programs.

“Maybe your child would like to try soccer or go to Camp Watia, or maybe you’d like to work with a personal trainer or learn to swim. You name it, and the Y has a program for you,” said Sadie Simpson, senior membership and healthy living director at the Corpening Memorial Y. “We’d love to introduce you to all we have to offer the community.”

The gift card amounts range from $50 for an individual membership to $100 for a household, and are valid on the purchase of any YMCA of WNC program.

The Corpening Memorial Y is at 348 Grace Corpening Dr. in Marion.
