Jonathan Wayne Burgin MARION Jonathan Wayne Burgin, 21, of Marion, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014. Born in Buncombe County, Jan. 2, 1993, he was the son of Rodney W. Burgin and Carrisa Jenkins Berry, both of Marion. He was employed as a welder, of which he took great pride in, at Morganton Pressure Vessels. A wonderful son, brother, grandson and friend, Jonathan will be remembered for the way he could brighten a room just by his presence. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tommy Allison. He is survived by his parents, Rodney W. Burgin and Carrisa Jenkins Berry and her husband, Brian; two sisters, Marina Burgin Loftis and Maranda Lee, both of Marion; paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Debbie Burgin of Marion; maternal grandfather, Marlin Jenkins and wife, Bobbi of Valdosta, Ga.; maternal grandmother, Barbara McKinney; maternal great-grandparents, Max and Ruth Barrier; and paternal great-grandmother, Jerolene Hall, all of Marion; one niece, Marissa Loftis; and a number of aunts and uncles also survive. A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 26, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Justice officiating. Interment will follow at Murphy's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. Westmoreland Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Rodney, Ronnie and Debbie, I am so sorry for your loss of Jonathan. He was so young but I guess God needs a young Angel in Heaven to help him out. He is in control..If you need anything please don't hesitate to let me know. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
