Mr. Clifford "Cliff" Camidge, 69, of Morganton, passed away unexpectedly at Carolina's Blue Ridge Hospital in Morganton, Sunday, March 4, 2018.
Cliff was born July 8, 1948, to the late Nellie Farmer Camidge and Leonard George Camidge. Cliff retired from the U.S. Navy in 1997 as a Mess Management Specialist in the Submarine Services. He loved to go camping, fishing, doing woodworking, and cooking, He also loved antique cars. Cliff was an active and faithful member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall. He served as a volunteer firefighter in several different departments. He was a good-hearted, loving, kind, patient, and honest husband and father, who was at times a jokester. Cliff was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Farmer Camidge.
Surviving is his wife, Carolyn Moses Thornton Camidge, of the home; two children, Johnny Sanders, III and wife Sonya, of Summerville, S.C., and Leonard Camidge and wife Christina, of Star, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Tabitha Holsonback of Morganton; one brother, Nick Camidge, and wife, Linda of Goveneur, N.Y.; and a sister, Lynn Gadbaw, and husband, Donnie of Natural Bridge, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren, Chad and Devon McKechie, Ethan Camidge, Savannah and Emma Sutton, Jeffory Hopson, Joshua Sanders, William Gatlin and Hudson Holsonback.
A memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Morganton. The family will receive friends an hour before the service. Arrangements will be announced when finalized.
