CHARLOTTE Glenn Ray Kelly, 71, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, at Carolinas HealthCare System Main, in Charlotte. Glenn was a kind, loving, compassionate, and caring man. He was born April 11, 1945, in North Carolina to the late Eugene Kelly Sr., and the late Inez Elledge. Glenn is survived and missed dearly by his wife of almost 52 years, Pat. He is also survived by two sons and six grandchildren: his son, Forrest and daughter-in-law, Trish Kelly; their three children, Ashleigh, Tyler and Jake; great-granddaughter, Frankii; and his son, Patrick Kelly; and his three children, Alex, Rachael and Amber. Glenn retired from Belk Store Services after 32 years of service in 2009. At the time of retirement Glenn had traveled all over the world as a product developer for private brands for Belk Stores. After retirement he began a new career as a Riedel wine glass representative in the North Carolina and Virginia wineries. Glenn served in many different roles at his church, including President of the Lutheran Men, Lay Assistant and Usher Captain. Glenn had a passion for working with the homeless and working closely with the Room In the Inn at his church. Glenn coordinated many wine tours for the both the church and Charlotte Special Events Group. In his free time, Glenn enjoyed spending time antiquing, refinishing furniture, traveling, discovering new wineries, and spending time with his family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 22, at Advent Lutheran Church in Charlotte.
