John Clarence Noblitt, Jr. (Johnny), age 60, surrounded by his loving family, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, at his residence in Nebo.
A native and lifelong resident of McDowell County, Johnny was born June 30, 1956, and was the son of the late John and Tillie Mills Noblitt. Johnny took great pride in raising and training German Shepherd dogs, restoring and driving antique cars; and enjoyed reading and watching anything that pertained to westerns. In his spare time, he loved cruising on his Harley Davidson motorcycle, hunting and fishing, but most of all, he loved traveling and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Berry; and four brothers, Ray, Charles, Herman and Harold Dean. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Sheila Davis Noblitt; four sons, Joe Noblitt and wife, Mandy, Travis Noblitt and wife, Krystal, Joshua Noblitt and wife, Kaylynn and Christian Noblitt; and four sisters, Alice McKinney, Linda Collins, Mable Stratton and Jewel Mahan. He is also survived by his six loving grandchildren, Christin, Jonathan, Tillie, Dillon, Bryson and Atticus Noblitt; one great-grandson, Maddox Wall; and a number of nieces and nephews.
