MARION

Lillian Geneva Hogan Ray, 100, of Marion, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at Rosehill Retirement Center in Marion.

Mrs. Ray was born in McDowell County, Dec. 13, 1916, to the late Caleb Pinkney Hogan and Ella Ward Hogan. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren dearly.

Surviving Mrs. Ray are her sons, Michael Ray, of Marion, C. Terry (Kathleen) Ray of Dallastown, Pa., James (JoAnn) Ray of Marion, Jerry T. (Patricia) Ray of Disputanta, Va.; daughters, Mary (James) Valentine of Felton, Pa., Patsy Martin, of Edgemere, Md., and Julia (Ed) Kamberger; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Ray of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Jean Mace of Marion; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m., at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Jimmy Upton officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion.
