TAYLORSVILLE Beverly Ann Carico Rector, 67, of Taylorsville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born Oct. 27, 1950, in Alleghany County, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Hoyt Carico and Wreatha Pauline Shaw Carico. Ann was employed for 36 years in the Catawba County School System as a data manager. She was a member of Catawba County Assn. of Educational Office Professionals and the NC Assn. of Educational Office Professionals. Her special achievement was flight-1992 Lake Hickory Country Club stroke play championship at the Catawba Springs course. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Harry Rector of Taylorsville; sons, Curtis Rector of Conover, Christopher Rector of Stony Point; granddaughter, Morgan Rector, currently attending NC State University in Raleigh; brothers, Mike Carico and wife, Vickie, the Rev. Mark Carico and wife, Debbie, both of Ennice; and sister, Shelby Carico and husband, Lehman of Fries, Va. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory, with the Rev. Mark Carico officiating.
