Koy Ansley Starnes, 63, of Marion, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016 at Mission St. Joseph Campus, in Asheville, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Starnes was born to the late Paul W. Starnes and Lonnie Ansley Starnes in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 27, 1953. Mr. Starnes was a retired welder and truck driver. He was a quiet man and a loving husband, father, and friend. Mr. Starnes enjoyed watching television and his favorite shows were wrestling and the news. He also loved to eat and enjoyed cooking on the grill. Mr. Starnes loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and his beloved miniature pincher, Chloe.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother, David Starnes; and a brother-in-law, Ed Priest. Surviving Mr. Starnes are his wife, Lisa Wilson Starnes, of the home; sons, Travis (Kim) Starnes, of McDonough, Ga., and Jonathan (Tamra Lowe) Starnes, of Forest Park, Ga.; daughters, Natasha (Jake) Schultz, of Old Fort, Nakita Starnes, of Marion, and Katrina Adams, of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Harold (Pat) Starnes, S.C.; a sister, Alene Priest, of Athens, Ga.; and grandchildren, Ashley Adams, of Phoenix, Ariz.; Jordan, Tyler and Breanna Starnes, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; Alex Starnes, of Jackson, Ga., and Donovan Starnes, of Cochran, Ga.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at Greenlee Baptist Church in Old Fort with Pastor Kenneth Schultz officiating.
