The McDowell Titan track team scored its first win of the year in a five-team meet, while the Lady Titans placed third overall.

The Titans posted 155 points, beating Hendersonville (120), Mitchell (68), Owen (65) and Avery (34).

Three Titans captured first place in their respective events. Stephen Webb won the 200 meters with a time 23.7. Kaali Tobe took first place in the triple jump with a leap of 38-6. Ricky Amador threw the shot 39 feet to take first place.

Winning second for the Titans were Austin Prince (110 hurdles), Andrew Randolph (300 hurdles), Dre Collins (triple jump), and the 400, 800 and 1,600 relay teams.

McDowell’s third-place winners were Adam Randolph (110 hurdles), Cameron Wilson (400), Austin Prince (300 hurdles) and Terion Camp (long jump).

Placing fourth for the Titans were Andrew Randolph (110 hurdles), Camp (100) and Tobe (long jump).

The Lady Titans put up 55 points, getting first-place finishes from Dezi Williams and Achunda Swepson. Williams took first in the 200 with a time of 28.2 Swepson won the shot with a throw of 31 feet.

Williams finished second in the 100 and the 400-meter relay team also took second.

Diamond Hemphill was third in the 100, while Megan Zullo took fourth in the shot and Kassi Justice fourth in the high jump.

McDowell competed in the Jus’ Running Relays at Roberson Wednesday. Results were not available at press time. The Titans and Lady Titans are at Mountain Heritage today.
