RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO CLOSE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF KENMORE DRIVE IN THE TOWN OF DREXEL'S ETJ WHEREAS, The Board of Aldermen, as authorized by North Carolina General Statute 160A-299, declares its intent to close and abandon a portion of Kenmore Drive lying near the boundary of Tax Parcel ID Number 2724244236. Further description includes: "unopened, platted street, shown on a map as Kenmore Drive but never developed. Beginning at the calculated point having approximately 60 feet of ROW and a starting point of South 23 degrees 18 minutes 00 seconds East to the end of the cul- de-sac of the undeveloped subdivision (approximately 550 feet)." NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Aldermen intends to close and abandon that portion of Kenmore Drive, as described herein, pursuant to the provisions of North Carolina General Statute 160A-299, and that a public hearing to consider the question of closing and abandoning such portion of Kenmore Drive be set for March 3, 2020, at 6:00 p.m., at the regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen. It is directed that the Resolution of Intent to Close and Abandon be published once a week for four (4) successive weeks prior to the hearing; that copy of the Resolution be sent by certified or registered mail to owners of the property adjacent to the portion of the street to be closed, as shown on the County tax records; that a notice and public hearing be prominently posted in at least two (2) places along portions of the street to be closed.
