Morning fire burns home in Nebo

Local and state law enforcement are investigating a house fire that occurred Monday morning in Nebo

A home fire early Monday morning resulted in no injuries, but is being investigated by local and state law enforcement as suspicious, according to reports.

At approximately 6:55 a.m. Monday morning, fire and emergency agencies and law enforcement responded to East Hunt Drive off US 70 East in Nebo after receiving reports of a structure fire in progress.

According to McDowell Sheriff’s Office Detective Van Williams, the fire to the single story home – owned by Kala Fink and occupied by Kasey and Lisa Scott of Nebo – appears to be suspicious and is still under investigation. The State Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist.

The home was considered a total loss. No injuries were reported during the fire, according to Nebo Fire Department officials.

Nebo, Marion, Dysartsville and Glenwood Fire Departments, McDowell EMS, McDowell Rescue Squad, Emergency Management, the McDowell Fire Marshal's Office, McDowell Sheriff’s Office and SBI assisted or were notified to the fire.
