Makers of soulful, upbeat tunes: Fruition delivers solid new album

Fruition will perform songs from their latest album Thursday, March 29, at Asheville Music Hall.

The life of an entertainment writer may seem glamorous, and I’ll admit sometimes it is, but there are days when I look at my email and groan from the amount of bands pitching their albums for review.

I’ll be honest with you. That was the case when I got an email from the band Fruition. After a few hours away from my obligations, however, I gave their album“Watching it all Fall Apart” a listen and was surprised by its depth and sound.

The band from Portland, Oregon, creates music that reminds me of artists like Crowfield, Neko Case, Dawes and Blitzen Trapper. Their folksy, electric sound makes for a great listening experience. If you enjoy music that can help you mellow out, but also pep you up with just the right amount of energy, I suggest you give their album a listen, or better yet see them live at Asheville Music Hall on Thursday, March 29.

Tickets are currently available at or can be purchased at the venue the day of the show.
