McDowell Children’s Theatre presents “Sweeney Todd: School Edition” Friday Saturday, Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, at 7 p.m.; Sunday and Sunday, May 19 at 2 p.m. The musical follows the story of Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber who seeks vengeance against the judge who framed him. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett's luck sharply shifts when Todd's thirst for blood inspires the addition of a mystery ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up. This show has been edited to be more appropriate for teen performers, but certain plot aspects are still included for the integrity of the show. This show is recommended those for 13 and older.
