Have you ever met someone that you instantly hit it off with? Maybe they make you feel like you’re 21 again, before the world of bills, weight loss plans and bouts of depression really started getting to you.
If you know what I’m talking about, then you definitely need to check out the Podcast “Page 7.” I’ve never considered myself a tabloid magazine addict or one who enjoys listening to total strangers talk about absolutely nothing, but after just one episode of the pop culture obsessed podcast I’m hooked.
The show’s hosts Jackie Zebrowski, Marcus Parks, and Molly Knefel are 30-somethings who aren’t afraid to talk about their depression issues, relationships that haven’t worked out and their fear of growing up into boring old people.
Each episode starts out with banter about the three’s favorite shows, one of them which is “Riverdale,” a CW show I wrote about a month or so back. Following the intro conversation, they then begin to talk about the latest celebrity gossip, which could be anything from Britney Spears most-recent fling to the type of cancer that a B-list actor from a ‘60s show supposedly has.
Last, but definitely not least, is the trio’s blind list segment, which lets Jackie and Molly guess which celebrities have been named to lists which cover topics like “who’s received the most plastic surgery” and “Celebrities who have given up their real name.”
If you’re a 30-something or someone who feels young at heart, but sometimes left out, I recommend you check out “Page 7.” Sure, sometimes the hosts have some colorful things to say, but you’ll find a kinship with the show that’s hard to describe.
