In honor of Veterans Day, the library will be closed Monday, Nov. 11. No fines will accrue this day.

In celebration of Thanksgiving, the library will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28; Friday, Nov. 29; and Saturday, Nov. 30. No fines will accrue these days.

Teens — Finger Knitting at the Marion Branch Library, 4 p.m.

Teens will learn how to knit a bookmark or a colorful bracelet using yarn and their hands.

Adults — Escape the Office at the Old Fort Branch Library, 4:30 p.m.

Join us at the Old Fort Branch Library for The Office themed escape room. Sign-up is required.

Wednesday, Nov. 6

Children — The Lab at the Marion Branch Library. 4 p.m.

Join us in The Lab as we build and conduct interesting experiments. This month: We are building boats out of a variety of materials to see if they can float. For school-age children, ages 5+.

Thursday, Nov. 7

Join us for a classic craft time using perler beads to create your own design.

Teens — Decorate Bottles at the Marion Branch Library, 4 p.m.

This will be a competition to see who can create the most beautiful catch-all container.

Wednesday, Nov. 20

Children — The Studio at the Marion Branch Library. 4 p.m.

Try your hand at different art techniques in The Studio. This month: Learn how to fold paper to make origami boats. For school-age children, ages 5+.

Crafts for Little Hands

Ages 1-5

Second Monday at 11 a.m. — Marion Branch Library

Second Tuesday at 11 a.m. — Old Fort Branch Library

Once a month after Story Time, preschool-age children are invited to craft at the library. Dress for a mess because we will be using glue, scissors, paints, paper, markers, crayons and much more. Targeted age group 3- to 5-year olds, but all are welcome.

Thursdays at 4 p.m. — Marion Branch Library

This is an activity for children ages 5 and up. Lego Challenges, board games, crafts, and outdoor fun.

PAWS for Reading

School Age

Every Thursday at 4:30 p.m. — Marion Branch Library

Kids ages 5-10 are invited to sign up for a 15-minute reading session with one of our therapy dogs. A fun way to build literacy skills and confidence. Free and open to the public. Registration required. Spaces are limited.

Sensory Story Time

All Ages

First Saturday at 12 p.m. — Marion Branch Library

Sensory Story Time is an all-ages program created for the families of children with special needs. Our goal each story time is to engage the senses through interactive books, songs encouraging movement, and other exciting sensory activities. Registration required.
