McDowell County Sheriff’s Office needs help in solving break-ins, thefts

McDowell County Sheriff’s Office investigators need help solving some break-ins and thefts.

It was reported on Monday, Nov. 18 that someone removed $4,603 worth of tools and wiring from a construction site on Lackeytown Road in Old Fort. The crime occurred sometime between 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 and 9 a.m. on Nov. 18.

Cameron Proctor reported on Thursday, Nov. 28 that someone broke into his home on Ridge Road in Marion and took coins, a rifle, various knives and two cameras worth a total of $925. The crimes occurred sometime between 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 28.

Michael Ray reported on Sunday, Dec. 1 that someone stole two handguns – valued at $1,138—from his residence on Beaver Creek Road in Marion. The theft occurred sometime between 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, according to a news release.
