Chamber holds ribbon-cutting ceremony for Artesana Ice Cream

At the ribbon cutting for Artesana Ice Cream, owners Sandra and Agustin Precoma (center) are joined by family, staff, friends, chamber ambassadors and city officials.

The McDowell Chamber of Commerce was pleased to celebrate the opening of Artesana Ice Cream with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, July 17.

Artesana is one of the newest and sweetest additions to the growing downtown business district and a recent graduate of the Growing Entrepreneurs Marion program, according to a news release from the chamber.

Owners Agustin and Sandra Precoma had a vision, to bring a 70-year-old family ice cream recipe to Marion. Well, that vision is now a reality. Agustin’s grandfather was a doctor who wanted to create a sweet treat that was healthier for his patients. The idea of an ice cream that used natural ingredients was soon developed. The milk, cream and nuts provide protein and calcium; the fruits provide vitamins; the cacao, sugar, and honey provide energy. All of the combined ingredients allow Artesana to make a healthier treat for their customers to enjoy.

Come and discover their creative and delicious hand-crafted flavors of ice cream at our town's first authentic artisan ice cream shop. Taste and see how sweet Main Street can be!
