The McDowell County Board of Elections is also getting into the spirit of the upcoming WNC Bigfoot Festival.

On Friday morning, a tall hairy creature showed up at the Board of Elections office at 2458 N.C. 226 South so he could register to vote.

“Even Bigfoot is exercising his right,” said Deputy Director Jane Dale Propst.

Elections Director Kim Welborn was happy to help this mysterious half-human, half-ape creature become a registered voter in McDowell County. Dale said that Bigfoot would absolutely need a photo ID to vote come election time.

In reality, it’s all just part of the fun ahead of this weekend’s WNC Bigfoot Festival. Look for more information in Friday’s edition of The McDowell News.
