On Tuesday, the state DOT held an informal, drop-in meeting where the public could talk directly to state officials. Representatives from the consulting company were also there to answer questions and receive comments. A total of 46 came to the meeting at the Marion Community Building where large maps detailing the widening were on display.
Tuesday evening, numerous people who own businesses and homes along Rutherford Road got more information about the N.C. Department of Transportation’s plan to widen that road to three lanes.
