Fourth Annual From Farm to Table event set for Aug. 10 at Keeper’s Cut

For the fourth year, people will gather in Marion to enjoy a fine meal of locally sourced food. And this annual event seeks to help those in our community who don’t know how they will get their next meal.

The Fourth Annual McDowell County From Farm to Table Event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Keeper’s Cut Meadery, 175 W. Henderson St. in Marion.

During the dinner, a chef/caterer will create a fine dining experience with ingredients that are sourced locally. The event is hosted by the McDowell Local Food Advisory Council. Money raised from the dinner will be used to provide fresh locally sourced food for distribution in McDowell County, according to a news release.

“This event celebrates local food, local farms, and a local cause,” reads the news release. “Let’s celebrate local food and farmers while supporting a cause that will help to alleviate food insecurity in our community.”

You can also come by Cooperative Extension office in the second floor of the County Administration Building at 60 East Court St. in Marion.
