As of 1:45 p.m. Thursday, more than 100 people came through the doors of the Municipal Event Center to meet with the more than 40 employers and local agencies represented at the job fair, according to Chamber Director Steve Bush. Attendees had an opportunity to meet and talk with employers and fill out applications for available jobs. Some of the employers at the job fair were ABB. Auria, Baxter Healthcare, the city of Marion, Clearwater Paper, Columbia Forest Products, Continental Automotive, Crane Resistoflex, Ethan Allen, Friday Staffing Services, James Oxygen, Leviton, Manpower, Marion Police Department, McDowell County, Mission Hospital McDowell and Mission Health, Morganton Pressure Vessels, N.C. Highway Patrol, McDowell Sheriff’s Office, Tilson Machine and Westrock. City Manager Bob Boyette said it was the first job fair to be held at the MEC and this venue has worked out well.
