On Saturday, May 18, Historic Carson House will again hold its annual dinner fundraiser and silent auction.
The Dinner on Buck Creek for 2019 will be held at the Historic Carson House on Saturday, May 18. Tickets are still available for this gala affair, say organizers.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a self-guided tour of the historic home and the barn. The silent auction and social hour will last from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The social hour usually features a wide variety of cheeses, hors d’oeuvres and beverages accompanied by live music.
At 6:30 p.m., the Dinner on Buck Creek will have a surf-and-turf meal, as provided by Rob Noyes Catering. Dining will be in the Carson House’s Jubilee Arbor.
Organizers said many interesting items have been donated this year for the silent auction to help the Carson House, McDowell’s most important historical site.
The items for the silent auction are works created by local artists and crafters as well as vacation packages and gift certificates from local businesses. These items will be on display at Historic Carson House on Friday and you can bid on them that day too, said Executive Director Martha Jordan.
If you are not at the dinner, you will be contacted if your bid wins, said organizers.
Tickets for the Dinner on Buck Creek are $70 each and checks should be made payable to Historic Carson House.
Operating hours of the Carson House are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
