On Tuesday, the Marion City Council will elect a mayor pro tem and make appointments to city committees and boards.

The City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the City Hall.

The first items of business will be the administration of the oaths of office to Billy Martin and Don Ramsey, who were recently re-elected to council.

Council will also appoint the city attorney. Mayor Steve Little will make a presentation and a special recognition is scheduled.

Two public hearings are scheduled. The first is about the annexation of the SIA Investors Property on Sugar Hill Road. The second will be about the assigning of zoning to that property.

The public comment period will follow. This is the time when the public can speak to council about any issue or item not on the agenda.

Council members will next elect a mayor pro tem, who leads the meetings when the mayor is absent. They will then consider making appointments to city of Marion committees and boards.

City Manager Bob Boyette will give his report to council.
