Marion man charged with alleged drug activity

A Marion man faces charges for alleged drug activity at his home.

Detective Paul Alkire of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Thaddeus Daniel Watkins, 44, of Morgan Road in Marion with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine and maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance, according to a news release.

There had been an ongoing investigation into possible drug activity at Watkins’s home. On the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 4, law enforcement officers from the Sheriff’s Office, Marion Police Department and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation searched the residence and came away with 12 grams of methamphetamine, according to the news release.

Watkins got a written promise to appear in court.
