Summer in McDowell.jpg

The website currently contains this image, but will be active to the public on May 1. They are seeking submissions from the community on free, low-cost activities for families and children in McDowell this summer.

MATCH (McDowell Access to Care and Health) and the McDowell Health Coalition are partnering to create a Summer in McDowell Resource Guide.

This guide will provide the community with a list of local, low cost, or free activities for children and families to enjoy during the summer months. Staying active and involved during summer months helps children and families build stronger relationships, develop social skills and establish positive connections to the community.

McDowell has a wealth of family-centered opportunities which will be presented to the community in one easily accessible guide at www.summerinmcdowell.com. The website will feature daily activities happening across the county and provide detailed information on who to contact and how to get involved.

Information on local hiking, biking, walking trails, parks and community resources will also be added in one convenient location. Local agencies and organizations will be able to submit new activities and happenings throughout the summer months to provide families with the most up-to-date information and resources for low-cost family fun.

The plan is to launch the website to the public on May 1 and they want to include as many activities as possible.
