The McDowell County Commissioners will hear an economic development update and hold a public hearing about a proposed subdivision ordinance at Monday’s meeting.
The commissioners will meet at 5 p.m. Monday in the boardroom of the County Administration Building.
At 5:05 p.m., they will be introduced to youth delegate at the N.C. Association of County Commissioners conference. After that, they will hear items concerning the tax collection.
At 5:30 p.m., the commissioners will hear an update about an economic development project from Chuck Abernathy, director of the McDowell Economic Development Association.
Director Terry DePoyster will provide an update about the Public Services Department.
The public hearing concerning the subdivision ordinance is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Under old business, the board will hear updates about county facilities and the greenway project.
Under new business, the commissioners will consider appointments to county board and committees. They will hear an update about the Old Fort School project and consider administrative items. They will take action on tax matters.
The citizen comment period will follow. This is the time when the public can speak to the commissioners about any issue or item not on the agenda.
County Manager Ashley Wooten will give his report to the board.
