The annual Naval Ball was a night of dancing and socializing for McDowell NJROTC.

The event was held on Feb. 17 at McDowell High School. The male cadets wear their uniforms while the ladies dress up in their evening gowns.

The highlight of the evening is selection of a prince and princess for the Navy Ball Court culminating in two juniors being crowned the Navy Ball King and Queen.

The ninth-grade princess and prince are Shaquoia Largent and Dustin Parker, 10-grade princess and prince are Victoria Thomas and Michael Taylor, and the Navy Ball King and Queen are Nicholas Wendling and Kearsten Pendley.

“The Naval Ball was really fun, and this year’s theme was ‘casino night’ so we set up tables with playing cards, roulette wheel and poker chips for cadets that did not dance to have some fun,” said Thomas. “We had a red carpet to walk down. The ball is a great time to relax and fun with your friends. I am ready for next year’s Naval Ball.”
