Mable Hawkins Devinney, 86, of the Pleasant Gardens Community, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019.
A funeral service will be held today (Tuesday, Dec. 3), at 2 p.m., at Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., at the church, prior to the service.

ORLANDO, Fla.
Charles Douglas Hensley, known as "Doug", passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, at his residence in Orlando, Fla. He was 86.
Doug was born in 1932, in McDowell County. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at a young age, having served in the Korean War. During his Army service in Korea, he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. After leaving the Korean theatre, one of his Army assignments took him to Ft. Indiantown Gap, Pa., where he met his first wife, Mary L. Freed. She was a nursing student attending the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing. They were married and had three children before they divorced. After another marriage and divorce, Doug moved to Florida and eventually married and divorced twice again. His working careers included general contracting, in which he built mostly new homes and in his later life, he was a real estate agent in Florida, and then before he finally retired, he drove automobiles for a local car dealership.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Cashion in 1989; and his daughter, Marie Hendry in 2016.
He is survived by his son, Stephen Hensley and his wife, Patti, of Penbrook, Pa.; his daughter, Lisa Martin of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and his son-in-law, David L. Hendry of Orlando, Fla.
Private services may be scheduled at a later date.
HICKORY
Jeffrey Paul Coggins, 49, of Hickory, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019.
He was born Dec. 2, 1969, to the late Terry Jerome Coggins and Lori Frisk Coggins of Hickory.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his brother, Shawn Coggins; his stepmother, Joyce Coggins; and two stepbrothers. Paul will be inurned at St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
